Who am I?

I am a hobby angler from Bulgaria. I don’t have professional credentials or many years of experience — everything I share here is based on personal experience and observations.

The opinions and experiences on this site are my own; feel free to judge them as you see fit.

Why I created this site?

Like many beginners, I discovered that this hobby can quickly become expensive. There are many fishing styles, brands and accessories to choose from, and the top-name gear for certain styles can be costly. Experts often recommend starting with simpler, more affordable equipment until you figure out what suits you best.

On this site I share my experience with products I buy and try while building my tackle collection.

I don’t buy products just to test them — this is not a paid review or affiliate site. I typically buy items because I believe I will use them.

Where do I usually buy fishing tackle?

Short answer: mostly online.

Lower-tier models from well-known brands (e.g., Shimano, Daiwa). These were often my first reels and rods; over time I learned they are not always the best value.
Local brands — often produced in China to local retailer specifications. Some of these products are good and optimized for local conditions; they can offer a good price/quality balance.
AliExpress — a large selection and often excellent value. The downside is you cannot inspect items before buying; reviews from other buyers help when choosing.

As I try different products I learn what works for me and what doesn’t. I hope this helps you make more informed choices and avoid some of my mistakes.
